A Quiet Laze

Forget writing articles for today. The rain has set the mood and tonight's the perfect time for some good reads. I am a fan of Sophie Kinsella the quintessential chic-lit writer and have read a lot of her bestsellers. She writes comical, witty and oh-so-romantic novels that excite every cell in me every time I turn each page. I let her words run thru’ my frazzled head like a cool water on a headache. This one’s a newly-released eBook copy.

If you love reading and want to get your hands on this copy shoot me a message!

First evah "RANT" post

Every time I open my idled blog I can't resist a tweak of disbelief. How many post have I written and published so far? 3? 4? ;(

To be honest, I really feel the teensiest weensiest bit inadequate. My blogsite lacks content and I even posted one of my paid articles here! I want to spare extra minutes for blogging and just spilling out daily mind juices. Just like what my site says -- ZENSMINDJUICE.blogspot.com

Ever since I resigned my nursing job and became a full-time writer I spent most of my spare time reading fashion blogs, eBooks, Facebook and doing business :) got to put a smiley next to it aside from -- sleeping of course!

These are my top fashion blogs:

Monthsary is Pay Day

It’s Friday night and I’ve been wanting to get out and give my frazzled brain some diversion. Hubby arrived from work looking so ironically jovial. It was bloody sweltry so I took a bath and went directly upstairs to our room. I was flabbergasted by what I saw — a bouquet of red roses lying on our bed waiting for that “smell-me” moment. What’s the occasion? I browsed my phone calendar, it’s March 30 — PAY DAY. No!! It’s our freakin’ monthsary!!!! Waaaaahhh!!! and I totally forgot about it!  My bad.

Even that we’re married we still find time to celebrate monthsaries. That’s the convenience when your monthsary falls exactly on pay day. We can just drive our way to the bank, pay the bills, go to the grocery and watch a movie or have dinner together.

To my hubby — you never failed to surprise me. No relationship is perfect but we still manage to turn our childish arguments into a moment of surprise and pure affection.. I love you..

Massage Your Way to Wellness

Experts say that up to 90% of all diseases are related to stress. Our body compensates to any form of stressor and reacts as strongly as a life-or-death situation. It does not determine what type of danger we are facing.

Stress upsurges the activity of our Sympathetic Nervous System which then effluxes stress hormones such as cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine. It increases blood pressure, speeds up aging and suppresses the immune system which results in spasmodic pains, heart attacks, stroke, susceptibility to infections, certain cancer, ulcerative colitis, atopic dermatitis, fatigue, infertility, dizziness, palpitation, breathing difficulty, depression, insomnia, amenorrhea, heart disease and more.

A relaxing massage therapy is the best antidote for stress. It aids relaxation, reduces muscle spasms, improves circulation and movement of lymph fluids, nourishes the largest organ of our body—skin, relieves headache, supports healing, boosts energy and speeds up recovery. Clinical studies have shown the beneficial effects of bodywork in treating people with autism, ADHD, eczema, bulimia, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.

There are over two hundred types of massage techniques. The most common are Swedish, hot stone, Shiatsu, Thai, reflexology and sports massage, each one tailored to specific needs.
Swedish massage is thought to be effective in reducing muscular pains. It is attained with the use of a lubricating oil or lotion. The practitioner performs long gliding strokes, petrissage, percussion-like tapping, stretching and firm kneading. Heated smooth, basalt stones that are rich in iron are placed on the body’s key points during a hot stone massage. This improves circulation, relaxes the muscles and calms the nervous system.

In Shiatsu massage the therapist applies acupressure techniques using thumbs, hands, elbows and knees, while Thai bodywork emphasizes stretching, deep kneading and yoga-like positions.
During a reflexology massage, practitioners apply pressure to reflex areas of the hands and feet that corresponds to specific glands, organs and other parts of the body and usually lasts 45 to 60 minutes. Sports massage boosts athlete’s peak performance by releasing muscle tension, drains swelling, relieves fatigue and promotes flexibility.

It’s time to listen to your body and fight the stress out of your incredibly nervy life. Don’t allow a bundle of jitters to take over your everyday activities, calm your senses and bring your nervous system back into equilibrium with a healing touch.
